Workers' Compensation

What is workers’ compensation?

Workers' compensation and employer’s liability coverage insures against claims for work-related injuries or diseases suffered by employees that are compensable by statute and/or imposed by law as damages. Voluntary workers' compensation and employer’s liability coverage might be made effective for workers not subject to a workers' compensation law.

Why workers’ compensation matters

We know that a key part of running your business is keeping employees safe at work. Therefore, we offer workers compensation coverage that provides you and your employees with important protection when they suffer an injury. It also covers services needed to help an employee recover and return to work.

Employees covered by workers’ compensation receive coverage based on the type and severity of their injuries. Coverage includes:

  • Medical benefits for medically necessary treatment of work-related injuries and illness
  • Income benefits for a specified period of time
  • Death benefits for dependents of employees

Workers’ compensation insurance does not pay for injuries that:

  • Are caused due to intentional harm or self-infliction
  • Resulted from voluntary participation in off-duty recreational, social or sporting events
  • Are inflicted by someone else for personal reasons unrelated to the job

We’ll take care of that
